My style is often described as natural, clean, bright, and timeless! I use natural lighting for [most of] my sessions, so I am always looking for the best light to put my clients in and the best time of day for our session, to accomplish just that!

Booking fees are taken up front, in order to book your session, whereas your final payment(s) are due later on.

The retainer is non-refundable and is required to secure your session date and time in my calendar. This amount will be applied toward the total cost of your session, with the remaining balance due on the day of your session. The standard retainer fee is $100.00 USD, though it may vary depending on the type of session you are booking.

This will vary depending on the kind of session you are booking, but if we are shooting outdoors, I will typically book our session around 1.5-2 hours prior to sunset. This way, we will have optimal lighting to help my clients look their very best!

Yes! I will walk you through the whole process start to finish, giving you prompts for posing along the way. In the event there are any specific poses or prompts that you would like to incorporate into your session, please let me know!

The number of images delivered will vary depending on the session type. Multiple image packages, as well as upgrades and add-ons, are available. For specific details or inquiries, please contact Emily.

Absolutely! I’m happy to suggest locations based on your preferences after asking a few questions to get a sense of what you’re envisioning. If you’re unsure whether a location fits your vision, I’m more than happy to help you narrow down the perfect spot for your session!

If I haven’t shot at a location before, I always try to arrive in advance to scout out the best spots and lighting. That said, I’m also very adaptable and can work well on the fly at any location!

All clients receive rights for unlimited use of the photography for self-promotion, such as online, in brochures, etc. They do not have the right to sell these photos or give the right for these photos to be used by a third-party. Those third parties must approach the photographer directly.

Payments are accepted online via credit card for your convenience and security. I’ve made this process seamless and efficient, ensuring a smooth transaction for both of us. Unfortunately, I’m unable to accept cash or checks due to liability reasons, but rest assured, online payment is quick, safe, and easy!

Now it’s time to prepare for your session! I’ve put together a style guide with my favorite tips to help you get ready, including outfit recommendations, styling ideas, and more. This guide will ensure you're feeling confident and excited for your shoot!

I provide my clients with the Emily Vale Photography Style Guide during the booking process to help you prepare for your session. A quick rule of thumb when selecting your outfit(s) is to stick with neutral and earthy tones. The more neutral the colors, the better you’ll look, and the more timeless your images will be!

I recommend avoiding loud patterns and neon colors, as they can distract from the overall feel of your photos. Jeans are perfectly fine, but if you're aiming for a more polished look, I suggest opting for non-denim options like slacks, dresses, or other dressier attire.

Mini-sessions are non-refundable unless I have to cancel the event. However, they are transferable to another person if needed.

For all other sessions, I’m happy to reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice, if possible. Your deposit will transfer to your new date, but depending on the circumstances, an additional deposit may be required. I understand that life happens, so if you need to contact me within the 24-hour window, please reach out, and I’ll do my best to work with you.

I keep a close eye on weather conditions leading up to your session. If the forecast isn’t looking ideal, we can discuss the option to reschedule and find a time that works better.

Timing can vary depending on the session, but I typically share sneak peeks from your session on my social media (@EmilyValePhotography) within about a week to build excitement for the final results! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook so you’re among the first to see those previews!

After that, I get to work editing your images to perfection. The turnaround time for your images depends on the type of session you’ve booked, but most images are delivered within 2-3 weeks after the shoot. During busy seasons, it may take a bit longer.

If the session can be rescheduled, we will do so at no additional cost to you. If rescheduling is not possible, I will make every effort to find a replacement photographer with a similar aesthetic to fill in for me, at no additional cost to you. Alternatively, if neither option works, we can apply your deposit to a future session that better suits your needs.
