You rarely see wedding content from me because I retired from shooting weddings back in 2018. I still receive wedding inquiries throughout the year, but typically don't take them on unless they feel like they are the right fit for me. I decided to take on this particular wedding as one last chance to see if retiring from weddings was truly the right choice for me (other than possibly being a second shooter). It was a small wedding with an intimate gathering—and only a few hours of coverage with around 20 guests—and the couple had a military background, which felt like a perfect fit (given I am a Navy brat).

The initial inquiry came through the bride's best friend, and I was upfront with her (as well as the bride and groom) about not having shot weddings in several years. I shared examples from my past wedding work, and they loved what they saw. After chatting through the details, they decided to book me!

Fast forward a year, and we were gearing up for their big day! We went over the final details, and everything was set.

We were blessed with perfect weather, beautiful light, and a stunning setting. The whole day was filled with incredible people, and the bride was one of the most relaxed I've ever worked with. After spending just a few hours with them, I could tell this couple had an amazing family support system, and I was so grateful they chose me to capture their special day.

While I may not photograph weddings anymore, I still wanted to share some of the magic that we created!
